Roo Code
Roo Code was an Apache-2.0 VS Code extension that began as a fork of Cline and added role-based modes and custom modes. Its founder announced the shutdown on 21 April 2026 to focus on Roomote, a cloud agent. The extension was shut down on 15 May 2026, the repository was archived, and the official docs recommend ZooCode or Cline as replacements.
Discontinued. The Roo Code VS Code extension was shut down on 15 May 2026 and the GitHub repository archived read-only; the team moved to Roomote (roocode.com now redirects to roomote.dev). Official docs point users to ZooCode (community fork) or Cline.
